Health Benefits of Malunggay

April 19th 2012 13:34
When I was a child, I loved eating malunggay leaves. My father loved to cook chicken soup with malunggay leaves on it. I didn't know then its nutritional value but I knew from my father that it is a very healthy food.

Nowadays, we can already find malunggay supplements in different forms. There is even a malunggay bread that is being sold already in the bakery near to our house. That keeps me wondering how healthy malunggay really is.

After much reading, I learned that malunggay leaves is rich in iron. Iron prevents the body's deficiency of red blood cells which is popularly known as anemia. This nutritious food is also rich in calcium. Calcium is essential in the body as it helps the body maintain strong bones and healthy teeth.

The Vitamin C content of malunggay is known to be higher than those of ampalaya leaves. Vitamin C is an antioxidant that is very important in the body as it helps fight off the free radicals that destroys the good cells inside the body. It may also protect us from stroke and against our mind's declining ability as we grow older.

Aside from this, malunggay is also very good for the eyes and skin nutrition as it is rich in Vitamin A. Vitamin A helps prevent a disease of the eye called xerophthalmia.

So, why don't you start adding malunggay leaves to your daily diet? Its very economical yet very much healthy.

Health Benefits of Turnips

February 18th 2012 08:59
I love eating turnips after a meal or for my morning or afternoon snacks. I also love munching on it while watching my favorite movie or TV show. When I work on my blogs, a turnip break once in a while would be great. I love it most especially with a little iodized salt on it.

Turnip is not only a good and healthy snack food but it also has many health benefits to the human body. Turnip has a high fiber content which is very helpful in preventing the different disease in the body. Fiber also serves as a sponge in the body that helps wash away toxins that are accumulated inside a person's system.

This valuable food is also low in calories which makes it a very good snack food most especially for people who wants to lose weight. A low-calorie and a low fat diet also helps prevent certain diseases that the body might encounter in life like diabetes, high blood pressure, heart attack, obesity and even cancer.

The high vitamin C content in this healthy fruit helps curb the many free radicals that are present in the body thus making the cells of the body healthy and strong to fight off diseases. Other nutrients that turnip have also include folic acid which is good for the eyes and mental health, calcium for strong bones, phosphorus and magnesium.

December 29th 2011 16:18
From time to time, we hear about reiki healing. We can read it almost everywhere and we hear many people talk about its benefits. They claim that it does very good benefits to the body both physically and spiritually. So now the question is, what is reiki healing?

Reiki is a method of healing which uses a trained practitioner. The healing uses energy that is usually channeled through this practitioner. This energy can be transmitted over vast distances even sending it to the past or the future. Pure life force energy which is the essence of reiki only do good things things to the body. It never harms the body.

At the same time, long distance reiki helps every individual heal from within himself. Similar to reiki healing, distance reiki also helps reduce the many health and spiritual problems in the body like depression, anxiety, self-doubt and stress. Once healed, a person finds peace of mind, feels the body is more relaxed, finds comfort and sees the future positively. Distance reiki makes it possible to send energy at infinite physical distances. It can even either go back to the past or sent to the future for different and significant purposes.

Stress, depression and similar problems drain us the energy that we need to function properly. Reiki healing is the answer to these problems. If you feel that your life needs reiki healing and intervention, you can always ask for a trained reiki practitioner and find out how this very important method can change your life forever.

Home Remedies for Warts

October 10th 2011 14:16
Warts on our skin and any part of our body gives us a very uncomfortable condition. It becomes itchy most of the time and its also embarrassing if we have them on our face. As we grow older, the warts on our face and other parts of the body increases. Most warts are itchy and we wish we can remove them as soon as possible, however, it is expensive to have them removed through our dermatologist so many people just leave them alone.

Warts are caused by slow-acting viruses on the skin which are called HPV (human papilloma virus). These are small benign growths anywhere in the body but are mostly found on the face, skin around the nails, hands, forearms, knees, fingers and elbows. They appear either only one or in clusters

August 15th 2011 11:13
Many families struggle with healthy eating for a variety of reasons; one of the biggest reasons is resistance to certain foods. Our palates become accustomed to those things we eat most often, so some people prefer lots of salt, sugar, and unhealthy fats. The good news is that it’s possible to retrain your palate to actually like those foods that are good for you. For optimal health, it is vital to get your fill of lean protein, whole grains, and lots of fruits and vegetables. If you cannot get your family to eat what they should (yet) it is your solemn duty to sneak the good stuff in on them!
