It is the body’s natural make-up to perspire. Sweating is good for the body as it is the body’s way of cooling itself. All of us have 2-4 million sweat glands and once we do strenuous and other physical activities, the body’s normal reaction to it is to sweat. Women have more sweat glands than men but men are more active that’s why they perspire more than women.
Yes sweating is healthy, however, once the body’s sweating process becomes excessive, it is an indication that there is an abnormal functioning of our sweat glands or it may be caused by other factors such as eating spicy foods, being under in a high or hot temperature, being in a stressful situation or it may be caused by other underlying health condition like infections, low blood sugar or thyroid problems.
Excessive sweating can also be traced back to the genes that you have inherited from your parents. If your parents tend to perspire easily and excessively, chances are you will suffer the same condition as you grow up. It is therefore important to identify the specific causes of your condition so the necessary treatment can be given. This will also help avoid embarrassment on the affected person most especially when you are with your friends and in public.
