What is Self-hypnosis?

May 12th 2011 17:14
Do you want to release stress in your life? Do you want to be able to have peace of mind in spite of the many struggles and problems that you face in life? Do you want to get the necessary discipline that you need in order to lose weight, to control your anger and many more? Self-hypnosis maybe the answer you have been waiting for.

What is Self-hypnosis? Hypnosis is described by Merriam-Webster Online as . . . a trancelike state that resembles sleep but is induced by a person whose suggestions are readily accepted by the subject." In this process, there is a subject and a person who controls the subject. The subject is then delivered with hypnotic suggestions by the hypnotist. On the other hand, self-hypnosis is a kind of hypnosis which is self-induced. In this one, the suggestions come from yourself. You have to put yourself in a “state of light trance” so the suggestions you give to yourself will be accepted by your whole self.

According to www.selfhypnosistherapy.com, the trance state would be a feeling of detachment from general reality, and an expansive attention to what comes from within. Once a person is in this state, the body will be able to accept the autosuggestions right away.

The Dangers of Softdrinks

May 6th 2011 16:36
Almost all of us love to drink softdrinks. It is a great thirst quencher. It satisfies our thirst. However, we also hear many times that softdrinks are not good for our body. Here are some of the reasons why.

We all know that one of the main contents of softdrinks is caffeine. Softdrinks contain lesser caffeine than energy drinks or coffee but this is still not an excuse to drink softdrinks in bigger amounts. Whether big content or small content, caffeine is still caffeine. This substance is an addictive agent. No wonder why as we drink more and more softdrinks, we tend to crave for it more. Caffeine in the body has temporary effects of body stimulation and increased heart rate which results to remove fatigue and gives mental alertness. However, according to www.emedexpert.com, high doses of caffeine in the body causes mild to life threatening health problems like irritability, insomnia, excessive urination, high blood pressure, irregular heart beat and many more.

Another dangerous effect of softdrinks is that it increases the insulin levels of the body which may cause life threatening diseases like diabetes, weight gain, obesity, high cholesterol level, among others.

The phosphoric acid contained in softdrinks may also result to bone breakdown and a possibility of increased risk of getting osteoporosis. This is because phosphorous when excreted in the body through urination takes calcium with it which decreases the calcium content of the body.

So, how many softdrinks have you had since this morning? Now that you know of its’ ill effects to the human body, maybe it’s better for you to evaluate your softdrinks intake now. An ounce of prevention is always better than a pound of cure.
