Health Benefits of Playing Golf

September 8th 2010 16:59
Golf is one of the favorite sports of many people. Others though don’t really like it as they believe that it burns lesser calories than the other forms of exercise like brisk walking, jogging or swimming and other kinds of sports like bowling, tennis, and many others. It is necessary that we know what benefits we can get from playing golf so we would be aware how it can also be useful to help make our body strong and healthy. Playing this popular sport will help us get our daily need of vitamin D. Vitamin D is essential in regulating the amount of calcium and phosphorous in our blood and it helps make our bones strong. Engaging ourselves in this kind of sport is also good for cardiovascular workout. It also helps speed up our metabolism and will help to make our body fit. Regular exercise like playing golf will also burn our fat deposits and lower our body’s cholesterol level. It will also help prevent bone degeneration. Like any other exercise, playing golf will help us get a sound sleep. Exercise relaxes our muscles and will give us that much needed sleep at night.

For those who love this kind of sport, the Myrtle Beach golf courses are great places to play for your bonding time with the whole family or with your friends. They also have different Myrtle Beach golf packages that you can choose from depending on how long and which golf courses you want to play on. Myrtle Beach is a resort city which is located in Horry County, South Carolina which is home to numerous mini-golf courses and golf courses. According to Wikipedia, it is called the “Golf Capital of the World” as it has 120 golf courses and many miniature golf courses. Some of the most famous golf courses in this city are the Myrtle Beach National Golf Course, River Oaks Golf Plantation, Arcadian Shores Golf Club, Arrowhead Country Club, Grande Dunes Golf Resort, Whispering Pines Golf Course, Barefoot Resort and Golf Club located in North Myrtle Beach, Burning Ridge Golf Course.

As I was browsing around online to look for the best sites where we can book our tee times and at the same time provide our much needed accommodation, I found the webite, http://www.myrtlebeachgolf.net. It contains the necessary information about the "golf capital", Myrtle Beach as well as the packages that we could choose from for that relaxing and challenging golf playing experience.
