How To Keep our Mind and Body Healthy as We Age

Aging is the most normal process in our body. When we grow older, the parts of our body also ages. Our skin loses its elasticity. Some of our
good cells weaken or die. In some people, other organs also become weak or even unable to function properly anymore compared to when we were younger. It is therefore necessary that we protect the organs in our body and help slow down aging through our diet, exercise and our way of life.

Smoking and alcohol is a no-no. These two vices do more harm to the body than good. Both can cause premature aging and are very dangerous to the body.

Older people can already feel pain on some parts of the body mostly because of arthritis. Msm is linked to helping lessen some levels of pain in the body. According to an article in altmedicine.about.com, Msm is found in some studies to help reduce pain caused by osteoarthritis. Its sulfur content is believed to strengthen collagen which is a very important nutrient of the skin. In snoring, some studies resulted that it results to a quieter sleep. These results though still needs more studies in order to prove the truth of these findings. These substance is usually found in cow's milk, seafoods, fruits and vegetables and meat.


Prebiotics are needed in our diet as these foods are non-digestible which stays in the digestive system and while there, helps good bacteria to grow and multiply. Since they are not easily digested, the oligosaccharides that can be found in them stays in our digestive system. This helps the growth of the good bacteria needed by the body to fight-off the bad bacteria in our system. Sources of these foods come from whole grains, fruits, yoghurt, among others.


When a person grows older, he or she becomes sensitive and easily gets hurt. They feel that people don't find them useful anymore plus they can't do the things they used to do anymore. This results to depression and self-pity. Adrenal supplements should be taken by older in cases like this to overcome this problem.

Age happily and freely. It is a normal stage of our lives and there is nothing to worry about. We have to enjoy the life we have and make the best of our stay on earth. One thing that would make us feel great is by always thinking of positive things and not entertaining negative thoughts in our minds. In that way, we would live happily and become contented of how we live.
