The Weight Loss Benefits of Barley Tea

Barley tea is a popular health drink most especially to those who want to lose weight. It is one of the cheapest ways to lose those extra pounds. How is this possible? I learned this from my Korean friend who has been drinking it for years. She said that it has helped her maintain her beautiful and slim figure.

How did she do it? First thing to do is to buy toasted barley from your favorite grocery store. If none is available, you can toast the barley by yourself but make sure that the result is not burnt. After, add the toasted barley to a few cups of boiling water. Let it boil for about 3-4 minutes. Let it cool down then strain the tea from the kernels. Store the tea in a jar and you can drink it anytime you want while reading magazines, watching TV or before a meal. The best time is before you eat your meal. Drinking barley tea will give you a feeling of fullness which will lessen your appetite and cravings for foods to eat. In this way, you will be eating lesser than your usual number of food intake. After a few weeks, you will notice that you are losing a few pounds already.
